GCCC 2017 – Guest Announcement

TeamGCCC are delighted to announce Gerald Home will attend be attending Granite City Comic Con 2017 as a guest.


Gerald played Tessek (Squid Head) and the Mon Calamari Officer in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. He also worked on Little Shop of Horrors and Spitting Image as a puppeteer, and has acted in many other TV, film and theatre productions.

TeamGCCC are happy to announce that we’re bringing back Dr Sketchy Aberdeen for Granite City Comic Con 2017. If you’ve ever fancied trying life drawing with a little twist, these are the people to come and see!


Dr Sketchy are bringing performers from around the country, welcomes all skill levels of artists to the table and will be providing any materials needed to create your masterpiece – from pencils to glitter pens.

The UK Colonial Marines are a costuming organisation inspired by the Alien film franchise – fans from all walks of life, the group get together to portray the Colonial Marines, wearing replicas of the original costumes and carrying replicas of the original props.

The UK Colonial Marines will be on hand to keep you safe from Xenomorph activity throughout GCCC2017 on 20-21st May.

GCCC 2017 – Attraction Announcement

Founded in 2000, the UK Garrison is one of the foremost Star Wars costuming groups in the UK, supporting charities like the Make a Wish Foundation and the British Legion with their expertise in cosplay and prop building. The UK Garrison are part of the worldwide 501st Legion of Star Wars costumers.


Aside from Star Wars, the Garrison also operates Reel Icons, the Movie Section of the organisation, which has proved to be a huge hit with the public, young and old alike; with characters like Batman and Indiana Jones.

The UK Garrison will be displaying their costumes and props throughout GCCC2017 on 20-21st May.

GCCC 2017 – Guest Announcement

Team GCCC are pleased to announce Michael Henbury will attend GCCC2017 as a guest – Michael is best known for his role as Taboo the Ewok in Return of the Jedi, and as Gringotts Goblin in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Michael also starred alongside David Bowie in the Eighties classic Labyrinth, and was Warwick Davies’ stunt double in Willow; he is a very popular regular on the convention scene.


Michael will be available for autographs throughout GCCC 2017 on 20-21st May.

WrestleZone Scotland is the East coast’s premier wrestling promotion. Based in Aberdeen, Scotland, they host family-friendly wrestling events across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Moray and Angus bringing together some of the best wrestlers in Scotland. Stars such as “Red-Haired Warrior” Scotty Swift, Bryan Tucker, Blue thunder and many more can’t wait to be part of next year’s event, bringing the high-octane, body-slamming action that is now a staple in the North-east.

GCCC 2017 – Double Guest Announcement

Good evening, TeamGCCC are proud to bring you another two guest announcements for Granite City Comic Con 2017, in the form of comic artists GLENN FABRY and RYAN BROWN.

Glenn has enjoyed a prolific 30 year career in comics, and is an Eisner Award winner many times over. Probably best known for his work as a cover artist, Glen provided the iconic covers for critically acclaimed books Preacher and Hellblazer (both recently adapted for TV); as well as covers for DC, Vertigo and 2000AD.

Ryan is a stunningly talented digital painter, providing covers for 2000AD, Image, Dark Horse and IDW. Ryan has been involved with projects as diverse as Mars Attacks, Judge Dredd, Creepy Comics, Ninja Turtles, V-Wars and Jacked. He has worked on comic books, board games, video games, concept art and album covers.

Glen and Ryan both join us on 20-21st May 2017.
